Thank you Students for a Progressive Chapel Hill for a welcomed endorsement.
I appreciate the trust you have extended and the commitment you have made by endorsing my candidacy.
I also understand the strength of your endorsement: not just words but real people power.
Your example demonstrates that this year, I hope, will be the year the “giant wakes”. I hope for significant electoral student participation. I hope, more importantly, that this is the year that students realize they can work beyond the campaign, they can show up and have their voices heard on the environment, growth, economic development, living wages, collective bargaining, fair and available housing, “paint ball” (ah, Pa’Lante), sustainability.
So many issues, so much developing expertise. How to couple them?
I know we can better tap the incredible creative and innovative talent of Chapel Hill’s citizens. I have a few ideas on how we can more effectively channel those underutilized resources to better our community.
Thank you SPCH for aiding my efforts to improve Chapel Hill.
