Thanks to Anton Zuiker “striking while the iron was hot” after the Triangle Blogger Con, a group of local bloggers started meeting together on a fairly regular basis.
We/They continue to meet, to talk about – well – to talk about almost anything.
Tonight, for instance, the conversation veered from watching your own personal catastrophe unfold on television to the “evil empire’s” (Microsloth’s) RSS-extensions to the definition of ‘podcasting to Brian’s audio-blogging malaise (don’t worry, Brian will soon be back in the game with coverage of this weekends march).
I mentioned the fantastically deflating Better Bad News (very funny if you follow the ‘blog-o-sphere) and a piece of videoblog that still stirs my heart (a great example of creating an on-the-fly documentary – this one about the 2004 election).
These are folks with a wide POV. They’re engaging, interesting, surprising and refreshing.
They don’t log events, they ‘blog them.
We/They?
While I’ve always felt welcomed, I wasn’t really a self-publisher (’blogger). Until recently, I’ve always been a commenter on various other folks excellent sites.
I guess that’s over – well – at least for now.
